What do you pay for freedom?

 

I usually tell my two girls that I think that you need to pay for everything.

 

Every decision comes with a cost and that is also true when you think that you made no decision.

 

I really enjoy the freedom that comes with automated trading.

 

You can pick any entry you want.

 

You don’t have to be right all the time, because your system depends on probabilities.

 

You don’t have to watch each position, because no single position will make or break your system.

 

You don’t have to sit in front of your screen, because your computer does all the work and you have just to monitor the results.

 

But that also comes with a cost.

 

You need to invest time, effort and money to achieve a level where you are actually able to do that on a real account.

 

One of the hidden costs is the perceived profit that you think you could make with a bigger account.

 

Another hidden cost is that you need to give up human control and excitement.

 

Once you can enjoy a stable and profitable system you will start to consider trading to be a boring thing.

 

But I think those things are luxury problems and I am willing to give up these things for a good result.
