I think 70 is an insane risk and with most other entry signals you could expect an account crash.
But one of the good things about automated trading is that you can do a lot of things and find out what works and what doesn’t work.
For this crossover entry signal it seems to work and on a demo account there is no risk, so I can try whatever I want and find out if it works for me.
One of the things that I like to do is to build a simplified version of something that I consider to be a possible market advantage.
Afterwards I do a lot of tests, usually for at least 10 currency pairs.
If I am still convinced that I found a market advantage, I turn the whole thing around and trade the opposite.
Because when I test the exact opposite of what I would usually do, it should be a way to prove a disadvantage, right?
I am still not convinced that the crossover entry is a good solution, but it looks like it is working with high risk settings and so far I have not seen huge drawdowns.
Defined strategy tests are a good way to find out what works, because there are so many things that influence the outcome.
