Day 13 is January the 13th and it is a Wednesday.

 

Not every day is Christmas and today we only made $48 growth profit and no net profit.

 

We have been cash flow positive for the last few days, but as I write this text actually the account shows a little drawdown of $74 right now.

 

I don’t care and I wouldn’t even care if the amount would be 10 or 20 times higher than $74, because I have former results and therefore I know that this is to be expected.

 

Most people don’t get that, but drawdowns and long streaks without any substantial equity growth are part of the game.

 

Humans are expecting things on a regular basis. 

 

We want to get paid each month on a particular day.

 

We expect Christmas at the same time every year.

 

But when it comes to weather conditions, we need to take it as it is.

 

And nobody ever complains about gravity, it is just a given condition.

 

You can’t change the way the world works, you need to deal with it as it is.

 

As I write this content, I hear the song “hole in the bottle of wine” from Kelsea Ballerini in the background, because I listen to  a radio station that is called 181 FM Country.

 

The reason is that I don’t want to listen to people talking about Covid19 all the time and therefore I turned on Country songs a few weeks ago.

 

I need to deal with life as it is and currently it seems that Germany is in the middle of a never ending lockdown.

 

I can’t change that, therefore I do my best to make the best out of the current situation.

 

But when it comes to trading, you can change everything at any time!

 

And often you will not be happy with the kind of trading reality you have to face, therefore the temptation to just change something is always there.

But I learned from over half a decade of live trading experience that you can’t have the summer without the winter.

 

Yes, I know there are places where the sun always shines, but Germany definitely is not one of them.

 

Here in the Eifel you need to shovel snow in the winter, there is no way around.

 

But I know that spring is to be expected about 2 or 3 months from now, because it has always been that way!

 

And summers in the Eifel are really great, so I have something to look forward to.

 

If you know that you can expect better results in the long run and if you know that based on former, self made experiences, it is much less painful to deal with drawdowns – and even snow shoveling winters.
